Advances in technology now allow us to translate hand-drawn designs, or even objects or people in a photograph (see the Photo Tips below), into three-dimensional computer models. Milling machines then use these models to create precise wax molds, which we cast into gold or platinum and hand finish. This incredibly unique jewelry piece can be set with precious stones, such as the birth stone of the person you are wearing, or decorated with diamonds.

Portraits in Gold can be created using...

  • A photo of a family member or friend
  • A family crest
  • A business logo
  • A pet or other animal
  • Any object, such as your beloved boat!
  • A representation of a favorite vacation spot
  • A favorite message

Tips for taking photos of people for Portraits in Gold:

If you will be making more than one charm (for example, several children), take individual photos of everyone and be sure they are all facing the same direction in your pictures. Hold the camera at eye-level with the person, and get as close to their head as possible, starting at their shoulders and making sure the top of the head doesn't get cut off. Remember that we will also duplicate the person's expression, so make sure they are smiling!
